The Hand of Hope, 7 years Later
This is a snapshot of the unborn baby's age - 21 weeks, and it operates with a surgeon named Joseph Bruner. Infant was diagnosed with Spina bifida, and he would not have survived if he had learned from the mother's womb. Therefore, the surgeon removes the uterus via C-section and makes her a small incision to operate on the baby without taking him out of the uterus. When Dr. Bruner graduated operate Little Samuel, boy stuck his tiny but fully developed little hand through the incision and firmly grasped the surgeon's finger.

Dr. Bruner said that it was the most exciting moment in his life, at this moment in the midst of an operational process, he literally froze and could not move. Publishers headlined this image of "Hand of Hope." The text under the photo reads: "A tiny little hand 21-week fetus Samuel Alexander Armas emerged from the womb to grasp the finger of Dr. Joseph Bruner as if to thank the doctor for the gift of life." Little Samuel's mom said they "wept for several days, when they saw this picture. This photo reminds us my pregnancy is not an illness or physical disability, this little guy." Samuel was born completely healthy, the operation was a 100% success.
